Don't Embrace Medical Profession to Make Money - Dr S R Shetty

Sullia, Oct 22: The graduation day was celebrated at the KVG Dental College here on October 20.

Delivering the keynote address on the occasion after conferring the degree to the students, vice-chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi Health Science University of Bangalore Dr S Ramanand Shetty said that every year 50,000 students come out with medical, dental degrees. The medical profession should not be taken for making money but to respect human values and serve to every layer of the society. Strictly speaking it is not a profession but a vocation, he added.

The vice- chancellor of Kannur University Dr P Chandramohan was the chief guest. Founder president of Academy of Liberal Education Dr Kurunji Venkataramana Gowda inaugurated and presided over the programme.

General secretary of Academy of Liberal Education Dr Renuka Prasad K V, director Dr Jyoti Renuka Prasad, secretary Paddambail Venkataramana Gowda, head of department Dr Jayaprasad Anekar were present.

Dr Manjunath welcomed the gathering. Principal Dr Moksha Nayak presented the report. Dr Krishnaprasad proposed vote of thanks. Dr Savita Satya Prasad and Dr Sharat Kumar introduced the guests to the gathering.

Dr Dayakar M M officiated the oath-taking ceremony.
