Display Exam Schedule on Website, RGUHS Told
|
The committee report says that each college is free to hold IA exams on a date of its choice, but the schedule should be available on the college and university website and on notice boards at least seven days in advance.
In another significant recommendation, the committee has asked the RGUHS to videograph the process of viva-voce and store it for six months.
Colleges have also been asked to enter the marks of practical, clinical and viva exams within 24 working hours of their completion. ‘‘The marks for university practical and viva should be entered in an encrypted form in the computer of the respective colleges within 24 hours of the completion of the exam and it should be blocked. The data should be transmitted online to the university simultaneously,’’ the report states.
The committee has also called for the creation of subject-wise and chapter-wise draft question banks that could be hosted on the university and college websites.
To avoid the tampering of marks, the committee -- comprising J K Arora and S Chandrashekar Shetty -- has recommended that the university may make alternative arrangements for its colleges to electronically transmit the results (theory papers) to it and do away with the OMR scanning requirement.
S Sacchidanand, registrar (evaluation), RGUHS said: ‘‘Some of the committee's recommendations have already been implemented. We will look into all recommendations and take suitable action.’’
The RGUHS has already made principals of colleges accountable for all IA exams and discontinued the provision for improvement of IA marks.
